The Aparthotel Adagio Bremen was my first Adagio, and it is a very different kind of Accor hotel: a brand-new apartment hotel with small studios and a pantry kitchen, right opposite the main station. Everything is clean, practical and fast, and the Wi-Fi is great. What it lacks is warmth, style and any sign that it knows who you are as a loyalty member.
Quick verdict: A brand-new, spotless and very practical apartment hotel directly at Bremen Hauptbahnhof, with a well-equipped pantry kitchen, a very quiet courtyard room and a quick check-in. It is functional rather than cosy, the room is not made for working, there are hardly any amenities in the bathroom and my ALL status was not recognised at all. JCI Score 2.9 out of 5.
Location
The hotel is directly opposite Bremen Hauptbahnhof. It is about two minutes on foot from the main station or from the tram stop there. You can also get here from the airport by tram, and it takes about 15 minutes. For a stay on a business trip or a quick city visit, you can hardly be better connected.
Getting There & First Impression
The hotel is brand new. The entrance is on the ground floor of a commercial building, and from there you take the lift all the way to the top to reach the reception on the 6th floor. Without a room card the lift goes to the reception only.
Up there you also find the breakfast room and the lounge. There is a lot of furniture, and everything is practical and functional, a little bit stylish too. It is all new, but it does not feel warm or cosy.
Check-In & Loyalty Experience
Check-in worked super fast. The employee was friendly. But my ALL status was not taken into account in any way. There was no welcome, no gift and no upgrade, nothing that showed that the hotel knew I was a member. That is a pity, because such a small gesture would not have cost much.
The Room
The reception is on the 6th floor, and I took the lift down to the 5th floor, where my room was. It faced the inner courtyard and it was very quiet. There was no noise from the corridor at all, and I could sleep with the window open to the inside, which is always important to me.
I really liked the pantry: a small kitchen with a fridge, a hob, some crockery and cutlery and a few cooking utensils. It was super clean and exactly right for a stay like this.
The bathroom was very clean and very functional, but there were not many amenities. The shower was a bit of a water-saving shower, but it was fine and enough water came out. If you stay for a longer time, you would probably bring your own things.
The bed was comfortable, but a bit strange, because it is designed to be folded up against the wall. I did not do it, but I think you could simply fold the bed up and have your living room during the day. There was a small table at the side and a small seating area. That is not really made for working, so I would give Work only 1.5 points. The Wi-Fi was super fast, though.
I did not take any photos of the room, so I cannot show it here.
I slept really well.
Food & Drink
Breakfast cost extra, I think, and was not included in the room price. It was simple. It was not luxurious, but it had everything you need. You walk into the kitchen and take a modular breakfast out of a fridge. It is designed so that as little as possible is thrown away, and that is actually a good thing, because it is so efficient. But it is not a luxurious breakfast buffet as you might know it from other hotels. The coffee, however, was very tasty.
Digital Customer Experience
Nothing digital to report.
The Bill & Value
One night cost €89.30 (about $103). I earned 145 Reward points and 83 Status points. Breakfast was not included in this price, I think. For a brand-new, spotless apartment studio with a kitchen, right at the main station, that is fair. You can check current rates and availability on the official Accor page for the Aparthotel Adagio Bremen.
Verdict
What I particularly liked
The location opposite the main station, the fast check-in, the spotless pantry kitchen with crockery and cooking utensils, the very clean bathroom, the comfortable bed, the quiet courtyard room without any corridor noise, the very good sleep with an open window, the super fast Wi-Fi and the tasty coffee.
What I didn't like
That my ALL status was not recognised at all, the lack of warmth and style, the few amenities in the bathroom, the bed that is designed to be folded away, the room that is not made for working, and the simple breakfast.
Would I come back? For the location and the kitchen, yes, it is a good choice. If I want a bit of warmth or recognition for my status, I would look elsewhere.
