The façade of the old villa in a quiet side street, two blocks from Checkpoint Charlie. It has been beautifully renovated, and I liked it right away. 3.4

Mercure Hotel & Residenz Berlin Checkpoint Charlie

MGallery · Superior Room

Le Louise Hotel Brussels

Brussels
The Pullman at night: a classical building with the glowing sign and fairy lights along the cornice, and a modern upper section lit in purple and red. The architects clearly had fun with the two buildings. 3.6
Pullman · Superior Room

Pullman Budapest

Budapest
The Saône in Lyon with a small boat, the Saint-Jean cathedral and the Fourvière basilica on the hill above. Everything I wanted to reach in the city was within walking distance of the hotel. 2.9
Mercure · Classic Room

Mercure Lyon Centre Beaux-Arts

Lyon
The beautiful old French facades with balconies on the small square, with a pharmacy sign among them. From the outside, the building looks far more stylish than it feels inside. 2.2
ibis Styles · Standard Room

ibis Styles Marseille Vieux Port

Marseille
The Mercure Warszawa Centrum seen from the side, with the Mercure sign on the corner of the facade. It sits in the middle of Warsaw, on the other side of the Palace of Culture from the Novotel. 3.4
Mercure · Room 518, 5th floor

Mercure Warszawa Centrum

Warsaw
The view from the top floor, far over the city and the lovely park across the street. On my day there was a demonstration down there, and I could unfortunately hear it in the room. 3.2
Novotel · Room 903, 9th floor

Novotel Vilnius Centre

Vilnius
The brand-new ibis Vilnius Centre, with its ibis sign and flowers by the entrance. There is a construction site right in front of the hotel, so I had to look past that. 3.1
ibis · Standard Room, 3rd floor

ibis Vilnius Centre

Vilnius
The sandstone-coloured facade right at the concert hall. From the outside I thought the Novotel was super fancy and quite new, but it is not, really. 3.0
Novotel · Corner Room, 5th floor

Novotel Freiburg am Konzerthaus

Freiburg im Breisgau
The Novotel tower with its vertical lettering against a blue sky. A huge high-rise right in the middle of Warsaw, and the location is perfect. 2.8
Novotel · Executive Room, 27th floor
