- Airport / TrainBus 175 from the airport to the stop "Centrum", right in front of the hotel
The Novotel Warszawa Centrum is a huge high-rise in the middle of Warsaw, right between the main station and the Palace of Culture and Science. I had a room on the 27th floor with a fantastic view over the city. The hotel has a lot of 90s vibes, maybe even older, the check-in took a while, and the bathroom was a bit musty. But the location is perfect, and the desk is really good for working.
Quick verdict: A big, central high-rise with a great view from the upper floors, a very good desk, enough sockets and space for the suitcase, and a perfect location. The check-in is slow, the ALL counter is no fast lane, the shower is weak, the carpet and the bathroom feel dated, and the staff were not very friendly. JCI Score 2.8 out of 5.
Location
I arrived at Warsaw airport. You can get into the city very easily by local bus. At the airport there is a colourful guidance system with lines on the floor, and you simply follow them to the right bus. The bus into the city centre is the 175. It takes less than half an hour and costs only a few zloty, so it is super cheap. You can buy a ticket with a card at the machine in front of the stop, or on the bus itself. Make sure you validate the ticket. You can also take the metro, which takes about the same time. I took the bus because it was simpler for me. I got off at the stop Centrum 15, and the Novotel is right in front of the door.
The hotel is really central. The main station and the Palace of Culture and Science are right around the corner, which is great to see. From here I walked through the city centre all the way to the Vistula, and I looked at everything on foot. There are great restaurants close by and a few bars around the corner.
Getting There & First Impression
The Novotel is a huge high-rise. The lobby is big and open, with a stone floor and a lot of seating. I also had 90s vibes here, and maybe even older.
Check-In & Loyalty Experience
Check-in took a while. There was a bit of a queue. As usual there is somewhere an ALL loyalty check-in counter, but it is not like a fast lane at the airport, which is always a bit unfortunate. So I waited a while before I could check in.
In the room there was a small greeting for me: a chocolate and a mango drink as a welcome. I was also welcomed once more with a message, which is how I like it.
The Room
I was on the 27th floor, and my room was 2729. I was lucky to be high up, and the view over the city was great. The corridor also had 90s vibes.
The room looks very typical Novotel. The floor is carpet, which I do not always like. There was a big TV and a really good desk, with an extra armchair and a small table next to it. You can work well at the desk. There was a coffee bar, drinks and a small fridge.
The bed was a queen-size bed. Next to the bed there were not only lamps but also enough sockets, so I could charge all my devices. There was a large wardrobe and plenty of space for my suitcase. All in all, the room was quite nice.
The bathroom was a bit musty, but okay. The shower was big, but not much water came out of it. All the amenities you need were there.
I slept well.
Food & Drink
I did not book breakfast and did not have it. From the outside I saw a huge breakfast room, which looked rather uncosy, but I cannot say more about it.
I can recommend a restaurant close by very much: Soul Kitchen. The cuisine is high quality, and I ate very well there.
Digital Customer Experience
Nothing digital to report.
The Bill & Value
One night cost €89.10 (about $103). I earned 366 Reward points and 208 Status points. For a room high up in the centre of Warsaw with a great view, that is a good price. You can check current rates and availability on the official Accor page for the Novotel Warszawa Centrum.
Verdict
What I particularly liked
The very central location, the great view from the 27th floor, the really good desk, the sockets next to the bed, the large wardrobe and space for the suitcase, the welcome greeting with chocolate and a mango drink, and the great restaurants nearby.
What I didn't like
The slow check-in with a queue and an ALL counter that is no fast lane, the 90s feel of the hotel, the carpet, the slightly musty bathroom, the weak shower and the not very friendly staff.
Would I come back? Yes, for the location, the view and the desk. But on my next trip to Warsaw I stayed at the Mercure instead, and to be honest I liked it better.
