The Mercure Warszawa Centrum sits in the middle of Warsaw, on the other side of the Palace of Culture and Science from the Novotel. The lobby is big and colourful, the corridors are stylish, and the room is tidy and bright, with a big coffee station and a bathroom that is much newer than the rest of the hotel suggests. The check-in was very accommodating. I slept great, apart from a fight with the air-conditioning.
Quick verdict: A central, colourful and stylish Mercure with a tidy, bright room, a big coffee station, a modern bathroom and a huge shopping mall right next door. The check-in was very accommodating. The air-conditioning gave me trouble at night. JCI Score 3.4 out of 5.
Location
I came from the airport by metro and walked the last part to the hotel. The Mercure is just as central as the Novotel, only on the other side of the Palace of Culture and Science. You can easily get to the main station, and the commuter train runs here as well.
Next to the hotel is a huge shopping mall. If you need something, you will find it there. I needed an adapter cable and got one right away.
Getting There & First Impression
The lobby is big and generous. It is very colourful, very stylish and very varied. At the reception a certificate was waiting for me: the hotel is one of the Mercure Worldwide Best Quality Performers, TOP 10, 2025. I thought I could not judge that yet. But it held up.
Check-In & Loyalty Experience
The check-in was super accommodating. I did not need to ask for anything.
This rarely happens to me, but this time I could not use my welcome drink, the voucher from the ALL app for the bar. The drinks in the room are no replacement for it.
The Room
I was on the fifth floor. The corridors are very colourful, in red and orange. At first they reminded me of the 70s. But no, it is modern, chic and stylish.
What I found fun: every floor has its own colour. The second floor is red, the third floor is blue, the fourth floor is a different blue, the fifth floor is red again, and the sixth floor is yet another red.
My room was 518, and it was tidy overall. There is a generous bed with sockets next to it, a small sofa and a round table in the sitting area. The sofa is more like a children's extra bed, so I would not really call it a sofa. I would rather use it as a place for my suitcase, if I had a bigger one. There is no desk, so you cannot really work here. Instead there is a big coffee station, which I used. Directly behind the door there is a luggage rack, which was enough for me, although it would not have worked with my huge suitcase. The iron and the ironing board are in the wardrobe. Everything is in warmer colours, as is typical for Mercure. You can see that the hotel has been renovated here and there, which you would expect. It was in good condition.
There is a bay window, so you can look far down the street. You see tram tracks, the street and high-rises. Plenty of light comes into the room.
I slept great. But I did not get along with the air-conditioning, so I would give Sleep only 3.5 stars.
The bathroom is clearly newer than the one at the Novotel Vilnius Centre, and newer than at the Novotel Warszawa Centrum as well. It has a walk-in shower with a glass wall, a washbasin on the counter and yellow-white tiles. You get into the shower easily, but the jet is not powerful. The towels were not fluffy, they were already older. The shower gel, shampoo and conditioner come from wall dispensers by Elemental Herbology.
On the table in the room there were complimentary juices and soft drinks, included in the room, with a "Cheers!" card, and a snack as a gift as well.
Food & Drink
I had no breakfast here. I arrived relatively early, but I had received so many snacks in my room that they almost sufficed. On the way to the restaurant, I think on the first floor, you pass the conference area, with plants and red armchairs, and it looks inviting.
Digital Customer Experience
Nothing digital to report.
The Bill & Value
One night cost €86.00 (about $100). I earned 352 Reward points and 200 Status points. For a big, bright room in the middle of Warsaw, with such a friendly check-in, that is very good value. You can check current rates and availability on the official Accor page for the Mercure Warszawa Centrum.
Verdict
What I particularly liked
The central location, the huge shopping mall next door, the big, colourful and stylish lobby, the colourful corridors with a different colour on every floor, the tidy, bright room, the modern bathroom, the big coffee station, the warm colours, the very accommodating check-in and the many snacks in the room.
What I didn't like
There is no desk, the "sofa" is really a small extra bed, the shower jet is not strong, the towels were old and not fluffy, I did not get along with the air-conditioning, and I could not use my welcome drink.
Would I come back? Yes. I liked it much better than the Novotel Warszawa Centrum.
